Yakura for developers
There’s a gap on the shelf.
42 apps already sell on Yakura. Yours runs on your own servers — we handle the storefront, the checkout, the sales tax, the refunds and the payouts. You keep 80%.

Sold once. In their library forever.
Yakura sells apps the way Steam sells games: a customer buys it once and it stays in their library. Not a seat they rent. Not something that vanishes when a card expires.
If they later drop a Pro subscription, they keep the app— they paid for it. It sits in their library, they come back to it, and the relationship survives the churn that kills most software businesses.
People are already browsing. Be in the way.
The hard part of selling software isn’t building it — it’s being found. Your listing lands in the same places every Yakura app does.
New on Yakura
Every release goes into the Just shipped carousel on the home page. Nobody has to search for you in week one.
Category shelves
You sit in your category's row alongside first-party apps — 3 categories and counting. Same card, same size, no second-class styling.
Your own store page
Screenshots, description, reviews, price — a real product page at yakuraapp.com, indexed and linkable.
Browse and search
Filterable by category and price alongside the whole catalogue, for people shopping rather than arriving.
An affiliate network — if you want one
Opt in and our partners can promote your app. The commission comes out of your share, at a rate you set, so it's never a surprise.
Featured placement
Editorial slots on the home page. Earned, not sold — we feature what's good, which is the only way it stays worth anything.
Most of the boring half is already done.
Closest comparison is the Shopify App Store: they own the billing relationship, your app runs on your own infrastructure. We’re your storefront, your login and your licence server — not your host.
You don’t build
- Signup, login, or password reset
- Checkout, payments, or a Stripe integration
- Sales tax calculation or filing
- Refunds and chargeback handling
- Billing pages, invoices, dunning
You still own
- Your product, your stack, your deploys
- Three small HTTP handlers
- Your own sessions after launch
- Product support for your users
- Everything that makes it yours
How it works
- 01
Apply
Tell us what you're building and who it's for. A human reads every application, usually within 2–3 business days.
- 02
Wire up three handlers
Accept our launch ticket, check entitlement, receive webhooks. The guide has working code for each, and a button that tests them against your server.
- 03
Submit your listing
Name, screenshots, price. We review before anything sells — and your live version keeps serving while an update is in review.
- 04
Get paid
Weekly, automatically, to your Stripe account. Every sale shows its own release date. No invoices, no chasing.
The honest bit about money
Our 20%covers Stripe’s fees, sales tax compliance, the storefront, and carrying the chargeback risk. It comes off the top and doesn’t change.
Your share is held before it’s paid— 90 days normally, 120 for your first six months. Deliberately longer than the 60 days a customer has to request a refund, so nothing is paid out and then clawed back.
We also hold a 15% rolling reserve for 120 days, because card disputes can arrive months after a sale. It stays yours and releases automatically — you watch it in your dashboard.
If you offer an affiliate commission, it comes out of yourshare, not ours — so you’re never handed a smaller cheque for a sale you didn’t choose to pay for. And if you leave, you keep serving existing customers for 12 months. They bought lifetime access, and we sold it to them.
All of it written down — the Promotion Agreement and Partner Terms.
Questions people actually ask
Do I have to move my app to your servers?
No — that's the whole point. It stays exactly where it is. We only send customers to it, carrying a signed ticket.
How does my app know someone paid?
Nobody can reach your app without a ticket, and we only issue tickets to people who paid. Your server checks that ticket with one call to us. You never listen for a purchase.
What do you tell me about a customer?
A pseudonymous id unique to your app, and whether they're entitled. Not their email unless we've agreed that scope, and never an id you could match against another developer's data.
Who handles refunds?
We decide and process them, because we took the payment. The cost comes off your balance — which is exactly what the hold is for. You handle product support.
What if my app goes down?
We may pause the listing until it's back. That stops new sales and blocks entry; it doesn't touch earnings you've already recorded.
Can I set my own price?
You propose it, we approve it as part of listing review. Prices are tax-exclusive — tax is added at checkout.
Can I sell a subscription?
Not yet. One-time purchases only for now, to keep the integration small. Tell us if you need recurring and it'll help us prioritise it.
What does it cost to list?
Nothing. No listing fee, no monthly fee, no minimum. We only make money when you do.
We’re taking a small first group.
Few enough that each one gets real attention getting set up. Tell us what you’re building — a human reads every application.
