About Ante
Most people who play poker know the basics and stall in the same place: they can feel that a call is close but cannot say what makes it close. The usual fix is a solver, which answers a different question — it tells you the play and leaves the reason buried in a grid of coloured cells. Ante is built the other way round. Every hand arrives with its numbers already on screen, in a rail beside the cards: what is in the pot, what you are being asked to pay, what equity that price demands, and what you are actually holding. You decide while looking at them, so the number becomes the reason instead of a post-mortem, and repetition welds the shape of a hand to the figure underneath it. There are eight drills and each one trains exactly one number — the price of a call, outs into equity, the fraction of the time a bluff has to work, how much of your range you are allowed to fold, whether a hand opens from this seat, whether a medium hand is worth a thin bet, and whether short stacks are already committed. Snap mode mixes all of them behind a five-second clock, because a table does not wait. Everything is graded in big blinds: not "sixteen out of twenty" but "you leaked 1.8bb", which is the number a real player already thinks in, and it is exact rather than estimated because the app enumerates every runout instead of guessing at them. A leak map shows which of the eight is costing you most, so practice aims itself. There is a range grid too — switch seats and the hands you gain light up, which explains position in about four seconds and no words at all. Nothing in Ante is a gamble and no money passes through it. It is a calculator you can play against.
